European Parliament must allow for transparent investigation into MEP frauds

European Liberal Youth LYMEC has learned with shock and disbelief of the great frauds perpetrated by some Members of European Parliament and uncovered by the work of the auditors. We are proud that an ALDE MEP, Chris Davies, was the first one to speak out on this issue and call for full public inquiry into these frauds.
We join his call and as members of European public demand from the European Parliament to make the discovered information fully and immediately available to the EU’s anti-fraud investigators and to keep the European public impartially and fully informed of all the findings.
LYMEC President, Roger Albinyana i Saigi, stated: ‘EU citizens have every right to learn of the facts of these cases and the responsible MEPs need to face up to the charges of fraud’, before concluding: ‘European Parliament must serve as a role-model of transparency and accountability and there can be no compromise on that.’
