LYMEC refuerza las relaciones con los Young Democrats of America

Estados Unidos y EuropaAfter the last IFLRY Executive Committee meeting in Canada where Young Democrats of America (YDA) decided to re-apply for membership in this organisation, LYMEC president Roger Albinyana met last week in Washington DC the YDA President, Chris Gallaway and the Secretary General, Jane Fleming.

The meeting took place at the headquarters of the National Democratic Committee, the governing body of the Democratic Party of the US.During the meeting, Gallaway and Albinyana shared many concerns on the conservative and religious drive of the Bush administration and expressed the need to increase the links between the political youths from both sides of the Atlantic, particularly between the democratic and liberal families.
Gallaway confirmed the intention of YDA to get further involved in IFLRY, as their member in the US, and increase the bilateral contacts with different liberal youths in Europe. On the policy level, Gallaway and Albinyana discussed the situation of youth in general, in both the US and Europe, especially regarding education, employment and free movement for workers and students. YDA is at the moment preparing for the upcoming elections on November 7th and for the first time in many years they are ready to strengthen their international ties.
